10 Ways to Make Money from Home Around the Holidays

The holidays are coming and everyone could use extra spending money!

Even if you are super frugal, there’s almost no way that you can’t spend money during the holidays. Which mean office parties, gas for traveling, extra food, there’s always something to spend money on.

So I have come up with a few easy ways that you can earn some extra money around the holidays. None of them require you to go out and get a real job. And all of them can be done from home on your own time!

Some of them range from just an easy gig where you can make $10 in one sitting all the way to even starting a full-time job from home. But it’s all up to you! You can keep these jobs as just ways to make extra money around the holidays or you can keep them all year and keep earning extra money.

Here’s the truth though. Making money from home is still working. So I don’t want you to go into these thinking that you’re going to sign up and just be able to make money doing nothing.

Even work-at-home jobs are just that….jobs. You will have to work. Anybody who tells you otherwise Is just lying to you. And I don’t want to do that! Which is why you need to know, these are legitimate ways that you can make money from home around the holidays.

Amazon FBA

This is the PERFECT time to use the HUGE power of Amazon plus the awesome sales going on to make the most money you possibly can from being a seller on Amazon. Yes, you read that right: you can SELL on Amazon.

It’s called Amazon FBA and my friends Jessica and her husband Cliff make a 6-figures profit from selling on Amazon while working part-time. Seriously, they are an incredible team and make money all year-long doing what they love.

Proofreading

If you are the Grammar Police (and are silently picking apart the grammatical errors in this post 😉 ), then you might want to check out proofreading as a full-time income. My friend Caitlyn makes a full-time income as a proofreader and she teaches people how to do the same.

You can do this as a full-time gig or just working part-time. But the best part of it is that YOU make the schedule. You can work as often or as little as you want.

This can be especially helpful for you if you already have a passion for grammar and proofreading in general. Making $15-25+ an hour on your own time, on your own schedule, is literally a dream around the holidays.

Transcribing

If you can type very quickly, you can absolutely make a living out of that skill (in more ways than one)! One of the most lucrative is by becoming a transcriptionist.

This is another fantastic way to make money from home around the holidays. Anything with flexible hours that allows you to be your own boss is the best!

Taking surveys

Hang on – before I lose you here – there are only a few sites that are worth it. Surveys can pretty easily be a giant time suck but just stick to surveys that you truly feel are worth your time. You won’t get rich doing them, but this is a fantastic way to make extra money from home without needing to sacrifice your time for training or anything.

VA work

If you are exceptionally organized, love answering emails, hate having tasks uncompleted, and love to help, then being a VA could be right for you. A VA – or a virtual assistant – can make their money working from home helping bloggers or online entrepreneurs manage their businesses.

Around the holidays, this can be especially helpful! Just like stores are busier around the holidays, so are online businesses!

Bloggers are always in need of more help around the holidays. And you could really be a BIG help!

You can work at much or as little as you want. But you can absolutely take your skills online and make them into skills that make you money!

Imagine running someone’s Facebook profile for $400 a month, working a few hours a week! Sounds awesome, right?!

UserTesting

This is a quick and easy way to make some extra money. UserTesting pays you $10 per 10 minute or less online survey that you complete.

As a way to earn a quick $120/month (they limit you to 3 surveys a week), you can’t beat Usertesting. You can make more money for your holiday savings with UserTesting.

Bestmark

Another super quick way to make money from home around the holidays is Bestmark. You can do both online and in-store secret shopping.

It’s a great way to make some extra spending money around the holidays. It’s also a great way to get free meals, free hotel stays, free car repairs, and more! Check out Bestmark here!

Bookkeeping

If you love numbers, then bookkeeping might be the perfect way to make some extra money around the holidays! But, think it goes without saying, that you really need to be into bookkeeping to make this one worth it.

You can work from home, make your own hours, and work with as many or as few clients as you want. That’s part of what makes it such a great way to make money around the holidays.

Blogging

I love blogging! Last year, blogging made me $56,649 during the 3 month holiday season.

I started my blog for $2.95 a month and it was the best thing I ever did. But here’s the big thing when you start your blog: you need to start your blog with the intent to ACTUALLY make money! Find out my step-by-step guide on how to do that here.

Honestly, it won’t happen overnight. But the reality is that starting NOW is the best way to make any money at all. You can make money through getting people to your site (ad income), getting people to buy from you and your own products, or from getting people to buy from links that you have where you make money (called affiliate links). There are plenty more but this is the best way to make it work in the beginning!

Freelance Writing

If you love to write, but don’t think that you would ever want to start a blog, then freelance writing is the answer for you! You can write a piece and sell it for $25+ in the beginning and go up and up from there. It also depends on the number of words that are in your posts as well as the topic, etc.

But the bottom line is still that if you want to make money working at home this holiday season, freelance writing is a great way to make some extra cash!
