Taking the Elite Blog Academy course was the best decision I've ever made for my blog! But I really want to share with you the most important lesson I've learned from Elite Blog Academy. When it comes to making an income from your blog, the most important lesson ISN'T about making all the money. No, it's even more important than that!

The Most Important Lesson I’ve Learned from Elite Blog Academy

Everyone wants to make money overnight while working 20 hours a week, right? I know I do! But there’s no magic formula to making tons of money. And blogging is no exception.

Like with so many work-from-home jobs, blogging is always “sold” to people as a great way to make tons of money fast. But the reality is this: there’s no magic wand to wave to buy the short cut to making the big bucks. You have to work at it and work hard.

Here’s my story in a nutshell.

I started blogging for the wrong reasons. Some of them were the “right” reasons, too! I had just had my third baby and I was feeling very isolated. I wanted to help people as well as socialize.

But then there was the catalyst that made my take the leap and start my blog that day (it wasn’t even that expensive). I had read all of those “$20,000 monthly income reports” and thought this looks easy! If they can make $20,000 a day, I can too! Plus, how hard can it be? You just start writing and everybody will see your blog overnight right?!

I was so wrong.

When I started and I had all of 6 page views in my first week, I realize that I needed to rethink my views on blogging.

I joined the Elite Blog Academy because I was passionate about making this into a source of income but also to be able to help people! I always felt as though I had so much that I wanted to share, but I was always discounted because what do you know, you’re just a stay-at-home mom. (Side note: never say that to a stay-at-home mom.) It gets old hearing that over and over again!

So here I am, with my 7 months now of blogging and 2 months of the Elite Blog Academy under my belt. And here I am to tell you my biggest piece of advice that Ruth Soukup has ever given me in Elite Blog Academy.

And hold on to your socks because I’m about to knock them off. The most important lesson I’ve learned from Elite Blog Academy: ANYONE can be a pro blogger.

Yes, anyone.

It might sound like a pipe dream, but it’s true. If you have access to the internet, you can be a blogger.

I really thought that when I started my class in the Elite Blog Academy that I would be told that blogging just isn’t for me. That you need to be a master, a guru, a superstar in order to make it in blogging. But that was far from the case.

Ruth Soukup is the founder of the Elite Blog Academy, a pro blogger, a New York Times best-selling author, and she started out just like me (and you, too). She was an average Joe who had a desire for an outlet. For a way to tell her story. Blogging was the answer for her, and it took her to some high places.

Ruth wrote her book How To Blog For Profit: Without Selling Your Soul about everything that she’s learned from blogging. Her course Elite Blog Academy is everything from her book, plus videos, printables, guides, tips and tricks, secrets, and every other little step-by-step guide that you’d need to make sure that you make the right moves blogging.

And if there’s only one thing you take away from reading this, it’s that you can be the next success story. You can be the next blogging mogul. If that sounds too lofty for you, you can still shoot for the stars with blogging. You can quit your job and be your own boss. Or you can stay at home with the kids without worrying about the loss of one income. Maybe you can even support your family on your income from blogging and have your husband quit his job.

If that sounds too lofty for you, you can still shoot for the stars with blogging. You can quit your job and be your own boss. Or you can stay at home with the kids without worrying about the loss of one income. Maybe you can even support your family on your income from blogging and have your husband quit his job.

This isn’t a fantasy that I’m pitching here. It’s real. These full-time bloggers are real people and their success isn’t measured in trips around the world, but in times that they can spend with family instead of commuting to work.

What else do you need to succeed as a blogger?

You have to like to write! If you hate writing, reading all of those “I made $10,000 last month blogging and you can too” Pinterest posts are not going to help you. Blogging, at its core, is writing.

If you are not someone who feels as though they can’t put at least half of your working time into writing, then maybe blogging isn’t for you.

Practice Makes Perfect! If you are looking for a get-rich-quick scheme, blogging is not the answer.

That has been the most important lesson that I’ve learned from my time in the Elite Blog Academy.  You can have the most expensive site design and spend tons of money on scheduling tools or email optimization, but if you really hate to write, it’s all a waste of money. Your readers will be able to tell if writing just isn’t your thing, and they’ll move on to another site.

If you like to write and really feel like you want to share your message with the world, then go for it! Don’t worry, your first post will be better than mine: a 2,000 word, mini-novel about cloth diapering without any pictures or different fonts or anything (oh yes, it was bad).

But here I am today! I’m not saying that I’m making a full-time income, but I can fully fund every expense for my blog using my income. And thanks to Elite Blog Academy, my income just keeps growing!

Update (9/1/16): One year since I started blogging and 5 months since starting Elite Blog Academy, I made $1,987 in one month!

I am just starting out. Yes, I love writing. Yes, I quit my job when I had my last baby who will be a year next week. I’ve been freelance writing for content mills. and I average $40 to $100 per week. All I can say is thank goodness for my fiance. 🙂 EBA starts Feb. 29 I believe. I have been signed up for months. I launched my blog Jan 1 and I’m relaunching it Monday. I just found some few MAJOR things that I wanted to change….like..everything. Expand my niche a little b/c I was really generated towards the wrong crowd… Point being….you gave me hope that I can do this.
Thanks so much! I will be checking in to see what this blog is up to! It’s awesome.
