Can you really earn money by taking surveys on your computer? Yes, you can! In this Survey Junkie review, I’ll answer as many questions as I can so you can start making money too.
You won’t get rich and you can’t replace your full-time job by taking surveys, but Survey Junkie can help you earn some extra money for nights out and other things you might otherwise go without. If you are looking for jobs that pay up to $1,000 a month, read my post about it here. Survey Junkie is different, but still a ton of fun!
My Survey Junkie Review
I’ve seen so many questions about Survey Junkie and I’ll try to answer as many of them as I can, but if you have more questions that aren’t cover in this post, please leave them in comments. I’d love to help you out!
First, let me tell you that I fully support and recommend Survey Junkie. They are honest on their website when they say you won’t get rich by taking surveys, and I truly appreciate their straightforwardness. It’s a wonderful way to earn a few extra dollars while waiting for the doctor or before going to bed at night.
They have a B rating on the Better Business Bureau, and they work hard to resolve any complaints that people have.
For that, I’ll stand by my belief that they are a reliable way to earn a little extra cash on the side.
Is Survey Junkie Legit?
The most popular question people ask is whether this is a legit way to earn extra money. Yes, it’s for real. You really do just take surveys, earn points, and turn those points into either gift cards or PayPal.
Here’s how it works:
- Sign up for Survey Junkie. You can log in with your Facebook or Google account, making it really simple to get started.
- Confirm your email address. This is how you will receive survey invitations.
- Set up your account, complete your profile, and begin taking surveys.
- They will email you when your profile is a match for a survey.
The quicker you respond to surveys, the more likely that you’ll be able to take part in it. Some surveys fill up pretty quickly.
One really good thing about Survey Junkie is that even if you take a survey for which you don’t qualify, they will still pay you for your time. Some competitive sites won’t tell you that you don’t qualify, and then at the end of the survey (and all of your lost time), you’ll walk away with nothing. Survey Junkie is different. You’ll get paid for every survey you take.
Is Survey Junkie Safe?
Yes, Survey Junkie is safe. If you hopped onto this blog to read this survey junkie review, you may be interested to know that you get to choose which surveys you take, so you’re only sharing information that you want to share.
However, there is a Survey Junkie browser extension that tracks and reports your activity online, so if you are worried about online privacy, I wouldn’t download it.
Does Survey Junkie Work?
Yes, Survey Junkie works. When you break down how much they pay, most of the surveys will only give you about $1/hour.
So while everyone’s definition of “works” is different, it is definitely reliable. It just isn’t the way to earn money you rely on to live.
How Much Does Survey Junkie Pay?
You have to receive invitations to take surveys. One week you might get a ton of survey invitations, and other weeks you might get almost nothing.
Surveys pay different amounts based on how long it takes to finish them and a few other factors. These are the different types of surveys and an average of how much they pay, according to the research from DollarSprout:
- Take Surveys: Pays 1-150 Points (100 points = $1)
- Complete Phone Surveys: Pays $5-100
- Test Products: Pays $5-50
- Join Focus Groups: Pays $25-150
The most common way to earn money is by taking online surveys. Phones, focus groups, and other options occur much less frequently.
How Does Survey Junkie Pay?
As you work with Survey Junkie, you will earn points in your profile. When you earn 1,000 points ($10), you can redeem your points for either gift cards or cash.
There are three ways to redeem your points:
- PayPal
- e-Giftcards
- ACH Bank Transfer (uses a third party, available in the USA only, and takes 3-4 business days).
More Survey Junkie Hacks
There are more ways to earn money with Survey Junkie than just qualifying for surveys and taking them. Here are my 3 favorite ways to hack the system to get even more money from them!
Use the Browser Extention
If you don’t mind marketers having access to your browsing history and online habits, you can download the SJ Pulse browser extension. If you download it and allow it to track your online activity, you may qualify for even more exclusive surveys.
Download the Survey Junkie App
Whether you have an iPhone or an Android, you can download the app and take surveys while you are in waiting rooms or in long lines. Whenever you are waiting around and have nothing else to do, take some surveys right on your phone.
The app makes it easy to take surveys and access your account while you are away from your computer.
Refer Friends
You’ll earn more points for referring friends to use it. So if you have a roommate or a friend that wants to earn a little extra cash, give them your referral link. It’ll boost your points and you could cash out even sooner!
Survey Junkie Review – What They Say
Most people either feel so-so about it or love it. If you spend time online reading all of the reviews, you’ll find that most people earn about $1-2 per hour taking the surveys. If you have an extra 15 hours a month that you normally waste watching TV, or waiting on others, why not earn a little money during those downtimes.
Some people aren’t willing to spend 5 hours a week taking surveys for what could be $5, but others really enjoy the extra money. You have to decide for yourself. Out of the other competing survey sites, Survey Junkie stands at the top. It has the most opportunities to make money, the largest amount of users, and it has fantastic customer service.
