The Blogging Class that Made Me a Full Time Blogger – Is a Blogging Class Really Worth It? – The hard truth about premium classes that you need to hear before you ever spend a dime.
You might know that my blog is my income.
And I wish I could take any of the credit for learning how to get where I am now. But honestly, it was a blogging class that made me a full-time blogger. But my biggest struggle wasn’t with the whole “there are enough big blogs out there” or with “I just don’t have the time.” Nope, it was with the money!
It felt like everywhere there was someone trying to peddle the newest and best class. And very honestly, every class that I’ve ever taken has been good. But there’s only ever been one that has made such a huge impact on my life that I now consider my family a two income household thanks to my blog income.
There’s only ever been one class that so many of my favorite bloggers have all taken. Just one class that provides you with literally all of the information and knowledge that you will ever need to take your blog from a hobby to a full-time income.
You can watch my full review (and the story of life before EBA – it gets REAL, y’all) right here:
It’s Elite Blog Academy.
Maybe you’ve heard me mention Elite Blog Academy before, or maybe this is the first time you’ve ever heard of EBA (the name that the alums and grads call it because we talk about it so much). The biggest thing from my personal journey that I can tell you is that EBA is the reason that I’m making any money at all from my blog.
Before I took the leap and joined Elite Blog Academy, I had been blogging for 6 months, had made about $.17/month, and was ready to quit (which is, as it turns out, the time when most people quit their blogs). I got an email from Rosemarie Groner of the Busy Budgeter featuring one of her income reports of $9,000 (she’s now making more than $20,000/month, by the way!) and I was just blown away. She said she’d only been blogging for 18 months, and I knew that I had to find out everything that she knew about blogging.
The only class that she kept talking about over and over again was Elite Blog Academy.
I signed up for their free workshop and I was hooked. I knew that I needed to make this happen. Come hell or high water, if I was ever going to get serious about my blog and not waste my time and energy, I needed to get into this course.
Now, being a cheapskate frugalista, I was so afraid to ask what the cost would be. I knew that it was a premium course complete with in-depth video tutorials, workbooks, ebooks, and advice from the best bloggers in the business. I knew that everything that it provided, plus their money-back guarantee, would be worth it no matter what.
But I had seen some premium classes that had surpassed the $1,000 mark (or even higher!), and I just couldn’t make that work. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case with Elite Blog Academy. Ruth, the mastermind behind LivingWellSpendingLess.com as well as Elite Blog Academy, wants to make the course accessible so that if you want to make an income blogging, you can without worrying about going into debt.
I took the biggest leap of faith that day when I signed up for Elite Blog Academy. Not once had I ever spent that much money on myself in one day! But here’s the best part…
It paid for itself within 2 months!
No, there’s no “magic button” for making money blogging, but Elite Blog Academy is the closest thing to a shortcut that there is. It’s the only all-around blogging class that I’ve ever taken, and it’s the only one that has more full-time blogging pros as graduates.

What you need to ask yourself before buying a premium blogging course.
Before you go and get Elite Blog Academy (which only comes on sale for 5 DAYS for the whole year) or any other premium blogging course, there are a few things you need to ask yourself before you spend any money.
Make sure that you can answer “YES” to these questions before you buy anything! Otherwise, you might as well just be throwing all that money out the window. (If you’re into throwing money away I can send you my address and dispose of it for you… 😉 )
1. Do you have the time to commit to learning the lessons and doing the work?
No matter how great a deal is on a course, if you’re unable to commit to doing the work, then it isn’t worth it. You’re just wasting money if you don’t make sure to carve out the time to do the lessons and actually learn from it.
Buying a blogging course is a lot like a diet: you can buy all of the lettuce that you want, but if you’re still eating ice cream, it doesn’t matter. Buying a course doesn’t make you into a pro. DOING the course makes you into a pro.
2. Can you commit to finishing it?
I got an email a while ago from someone who told me that she has bought 10 blogging classes that she never finished. That’s a red flag.
When you don’t finish the course, you’re cheating yourself out of the lessons that you could be learning from the people in front of you.
Even if it means finishing in a year down the road, can you commit to finishing it? Even if it takes you a full year to finish, still finish it.
Elite Blog Academy is set up as a 1 lesson/week course, but that’s only if you get through it working 40 hours/week (which kinda defeats the whole purpose of blogging if you need to work that much)! It took me about 8 months to finish EBA. But I still have classmates who haven’t finished yet.
3. Are you willing to the all of the work?
All classes come with some form of homework. If you are going to buy a premium class, you will need to make sure that you take the time to do all of the work.
If you’re going to buy a premium class like Elite Blog Academy, you need to make sure that you’re ready to do the premium work that comes with it. Will it be tough? Most likely! But you will see the results.
Pro tip: Don’t skip around thinking that you already know the content of a lesson. Even if you think you know all about something or have already moved past a topic, still take the time to do it!
I wish I’d done that with Elite Blog Academy; the lesson about choosing your blog name… ugh. It still haunts me. Even if you love your name, does it fit your topic? Is it something easy to remember? Does it have the ability to grow with you when you become a blogging legend? Just trust me: don’t skip the lessons!
If you want to make a full-time income blogging, you need the best training.
I took Elite Blog Academy because I knew that if I wanted to make a living blogging, I needed to know how to use my time effectively and well. It is THE class that made me a full-time blogger. I am eternally grateful to Ruth Soukup and everyone who has made Elite Blog Academy such an incredible course.
It’s only one sale once a year for a few days, but they send out freebies all year-long (and you might even be able to get their super secret sales that are only available to their email list).
